About SHARON WILDING

The Purple Edge was set up in 2007 by Sharon Wilding, a highly qualified marketing professional.  She is a Chartered Marketer, has an MSc in Marketing, and more than 20 years experience at BT, an organisation with a worldwide reputation for excellent marketing. She believes passionately that small-medium sized businesses can and should benefit from some of the ideas and discipline from big-business to help win and retain customers - without the bureaucracy!  Read about some of her recent projects in The Purple Edge Customer Showcase.


Sharon is based in Canterbury and has earned a reputation for getting the most out of her time - as well as running her business she is kept on her toes by her husband and four demanding sons, she is Vice-Chair of Governors at Pilgrims' Way Primary School, a volunteer business advisor for Young Enterprise, and the Small Business Champion for the Chartered Institute of Marketing Kent Branch.  In this latter capacity she is delivering events with Business Link Kent as well as the Canterbury Christ Church University, and is available as a speaker for workshops and seminars.

As Head of Department at BT Sharon lead teams working in product development and launch, through in-life P&L and the management of marketing communications, working with business customers ranging from Soho, through SME to Global Multinationals to deliver outstanding results.  As Head of ICT propositions Sharon lead a project that brought £78m of new business for ICT managed solutions by focusing on building relationships with a neglected base of UK medium-sized customers.  Additionally, Sharon and her team delivered a 50% revenue growth over 2 consecutive years by developing propositions based on Cisco solutions targeted at and promoted to SME customers.  From 2005-2007 she was Chair of the BT Women's Network, driving for greater recognition and success for talented women.
