The Purple Edge was set up in 2007 by Sharon Wilding, a highly qualified marketing professional.  She is a Chartered Marketer, has an MSc in Marketing, and more than 20 years experience at BT, an organisation with a worldwide reputation for excellent marketing. She believes passionately that small-medium sized businesses can and should benefit from some of the ideas and discipline from big-business to help win and retain customers - without the bureaucracy!  Read about some of her recent projects in The Purple Edge Customer Showcase.

Sharon is based in Canterbury and has earned a reputation for getting the most out of her time - as well as running her business she is kept on her toes by her husband, four demanding sons, one soppy dog and 8 friendly chickens.

What you can expect from Sharon:

  • Clear thinking - innovation and vision communicated in a straightforward manner.
  • Strong leadership - motivating, setting direction, getting the best from people.
  • Fast results - focused and pragmatic, prioritising well and taking action.
  • Controlled delivery - energetic but structured approach to project management.

As Head of Department at BT Sharon lead teams working in product development and launch, through in-life P&L and the management of marketing communications, working with business customers ranging from Soho, through SME to Global Multinationals to deliver outstanding results.  As Head of ICT propositions Sharon lead a project that brought £78m of new business for ICT managed solutions by focusing on building relationships with a neglected base of UK medium-sized customers.  Additionally, Sharon and her team delivered a 50% revenue growth over 2 consecutive years by developing propositions based on Cisco solutions targeted at and promoted to SME customers.  From 2005-2007 she was Chair of the BT Women's Network, driving for greater recognition and success for talented women.

With the help of the knowledge and expertise of both Jim and Sharon our business is growing and I've gained the confidence, enthusiasm and inspiration to market TaxAssist more effectively.
